Spray can of 3M or similar contact cement works fine.

Subject: [rebel-builders] Adhesive for Aluminum

Hello builders:

Can anyone provide a suggestion on what adhesive is safe to use on 6061
aluminum? Anticipated usage is gluing on fabric for interior in spots.
Thanks,

Richard

[rebel-builders] Adhesive for Aluminum

Hi Richard !

You can make it easier for updates, and a lot quieter, if you
get some plastic insulating bubble pack & glue the fabric to
it first - it might then friction-fit the spaces ....

The insulating bubble pack is available in rolls, used for
barns, etc. It's about 1/4" thick, with metal foil on both
sides of the plastic bubbles - very light, and a great
noise & heat buffer. Just wrap the fabric around one
or 2 layers of it, and glue down with spray contact
cement. Can also be velcro'd in place ...

[rebel-builders] Adhesive for Aluminum

To echo what Wayne said. I found two 3M's products "Super Trim Adhesive"
part #08090 and "Hi-Strength 90" #62-492-4930-3 work best. The others I
tried would not take the summertime temperature in side a closed cockpit.
The adhesive would turn almost liquid and release their hold.
