Wayne,

Congratulations on your success with the Trumpeter Swan. What a terrific
accomplishment! I misunderstood you and didn't want to be left out,
thinking
the Trumpeter Swan Count was some new Canadian plane flying technique that
I
must become efficient at. Now I feel really dumb.

Bruce, the Trumpeter Swan is a very large water Bird that was close to
extincton 10 years ago! A local Wet land Conservation Group (the Wye Marsh)
introduced a repopulation program 10 years ago and what started as birds
being breed in captivity has spread to them being left on their own. We
counted 52 birds from the air in 4 hours (over a 40 mile x 10 mile area) and
it is suspected that there is around 90 of them in our area now! Very easy
to spot from even 1000 A.G.L as they are so large (approx 6 to 8 foot wing
span in flight) and have a bright orange beak. I got involved 3 years ago
when the oldest surviving female (Pig Pen) and a new mate (#366) paired up
in our marsh beside our home.

Bruce,

But if you didn't ask, you would have never known!!!!!!! Just like building
tips on the Rebel! If you don't ask you will never know, as they sure don't
put a builders "how to" video in with the kits!

Now there's an idea!!!

Wayne
