[rebel-builders] Rebel wing stringers

Post by Keith Leitch » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:43 am

Ralph,

That's what I love about the guys on here. Bringing up
something I hadn't even thought of. Does cutting that
front stringer on the bottom wing panel approximately
3/4-1" sound about right?

Thank you,
Keith R661

Keith,
In the fuel area be sure that the stringers are cut
back far enough so that fuel or water is not
trapped. Allow space so added proseal does not form
a dam between the stringer and end rib.

I left mine flush but drilled a couple 1/4" holes through the upright part
near the root rib.

Thanks Drew. That was another thought I had also but
figure it is just as easy to chop off a short piece
since I really don't see where it would hurt anything.
