Brian,
I bet you are "currently" looking at 70k for the engine, no history, little support structure, etc.
Having been involved with the Bombardier engine I was able to see first hand the issues like the above mentioned that can sway an engine decision.
What I would really like to see developed is a 360 hp, supercharged, bullet proof, simple designed engine that would also run on mogas. Now put that all together and sell it for 18-25k and that would be the engine for me....

Wow - You may be right. The 190hp and 230hp are fetching $31.5k and $35.9k.
If it really does come in at that price or higher, there certainly are many
other options.
