[rebel-builders]Heat

Post by Charlie Starr » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:30 am

Dale,

The heat muffs that I used came with the MAM firewall forward kit for the
O-540. They are pretty small, about 10" in length and about 4" in diam.
While perhaps adequate for this part of the country (if I can seal up my
door and window leaks), I don't think I'd like to be flying in Fargo, ND in
January. Perhaps when I get my doors sealed and finish the interior
insulation it will perform better. I also ran a rear heat duct from a
firewall heat valve, through a center console, along the floor, exiting just
aft of the front seats. Seemed to give off heat when I flew this past
weekend in sub freezing temperatures - but Florida isn't the best place to
test for heating (except maybe in July).
