[rebel-builders] Location of the seat rail

We'd like to help but you need to give us more info or be more specific
I think.
What page of the manual or what diagram?
What is the date of your manual?

My 1993 manual details the side to side position of the under floor
channels. Those measurements are to the center of the channels. The seat
rails rivet into those channels. The seat section basically says to
assemble the seat frame and match the rail spacing to the seats so that
the seats slide freely. I can't seem to find this info on the newer
electronic version of the manual that I have. Think I'm missing that
section. I don't really understand what you are asking I guess. I do
remember matching the side to side spacing of the underfloor channels to
where the seat rails were going to go.

G'day

While we are on the subject of seat rails I bought an extra length from the
factory and extended both the seat rails.

By doing this, it allows a huge range of adjustment for all sizes of pilots,
and allows me to slide the pilot seat a loooong way back which makes it a
whole lot easier for me to get in.

The extra length of rail does not interfere with anything and is worth
doing!

Ian If your seat latch fails would you still be able to reach the controls
with the seat all the way back? There's an AD on cessna seats calling for a
limit block after too many crashes caused by seat latch failures. I always
check my latch by wiggling the seat forwards and backwards after I have it
where I want it and once in a while it will slip out of position.

If the latch failed there is no doubt that it would make things very
difficult! (Unless you have elastic arms)

However all that I do, is when I am settled in the seat, is reach behind me
and place a small bolt in one of the holes in the seat rail. Simple and
easy.

Also the reason to have elevator trim and always have it set for what you
are doing at the time. If the seat flies back during take off let go of the
,,,,, stick.
