I just laid up the bottom in fiberglass and then used the aluminum strips on
the sides. My kit came with the material even though it never called out
using it. I bolted them with some small machine screws and locknuts.

The entire installation is in the Rebel - Fuselage section thanks to Roger
since mine were wiped back when.

What i see missing in your picture is the lack of either the float fix
bulletin or my original fix of swapping out the top 5 rivets for RV1613's
and doubling up the rivet pitch for the remainder of the front door post.
