UK MAM 1800 Amphib float application

Post by N.Smith » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:43 am

Hi All

Just a quick Thank You to all who helped me over the last few months with
info about their MAM1800 amphib equipped aircraft to apply for their use
here in the UK.

I've managed to compile over 4100 hours of use with no structural problems
from anyone.

I received a letter yesterday from the PFA who manage kit aircraft in the
UK -

"I have examined your submission on the floats, received with your letter of
1st March 06. The information you have collated is very helpful and we don't
anticipate any great problems now in clearing these floats, subject to
satisfactory flight test results on completion.

One point however - could you please advise how these floats measure up
against the enclosed FAR23 requirement relating to surplus buoyancy.

Yours sincerely
Francis Donaldson, PFA engineering"

This is as good as it gets over here - so many thanks again to all who
helped me achieve this result :-)

I'll forward a copy of the spreadsheet I made to anyone who could make use
of it directly rather than post to the forum as it contains contact info
(email address's)

For info though ....

Highest houred floats - 640 on N80353 (ex C-FWSF) with 1065 on the airframe
now !
