[rebel-builders] Moose hieght

Bob..sitting with cabin floor flat on my table the rudder tip just clears my
ceiling in the shop. Shop's a 10 foot wall with a couple extra inches thanks
to the block height above the floor that the wall sits on. If someone else
doesn't give you the numbers you need I will measure my table height and
floor to ceiling dimension for you if you need it.

Would a current Moose owner/builder please tell me the height over the fin
& fus assembly. I am trying to determine necessary work shop height, less
main gear installed. Thanks much to all who respond. - Bob J

Thanks Wayne. If that is over the rudder and I assume the fus is levelled,
then I should not have any issues on the floor over the fin. Would the
assembled fin and fus go through a 6'-6" height opening. Thanks again Bob J

Bob,

My garage door is 6'10" high. I have my SR/Moose on cut down gear legs which
had been scrapped by MAM. The legs are only 37" long. This give me just
enough room to slide the aircraft out of the garage. The tail will fit with
the stinger installed, but the tailwheel must be removed. If your door
height is 6'6" you may have to also remove the stinger.

You might not have to take the tailwheel or stinger off if your shop/garage
is anything like mine and is just dirt outside the garage door. I get my
tail end out of my shop by digging a hole that the tailwheel drops into as I
back the fuselage out. The tailwheel gets to the garage door before the fin
does, so this works for me. I put the front of the fuselage on what amounts
to a two inch thick walled piece of aluminum tube with wheelbarrow wheels on
each side. It's actually the wheels off of my land yacht but I'm not sure
how many people have seen a land yacht (three wheeled cart, essentially,
with a windsurfer sized sail for use on dry lake beds).
