[rebel-builders] Moose landing gear

Post by Dale Fultz » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:31 am

Bill, the new style is the 310B if the gear leg goes into the 309 and fits
flush then you use the flat bar type if the gear leg protrudes down out of
the 309 then you use the one with the little legs on it. Dale SR-033

I tried the gear leg and it does protrude so I will use Fus 310 which will
give me a bigger gap.I thinking the parts are labeled wrong.Fus 310B is the
flat bar and Fus 310 has more clearance???

Thanks for your reply

Why do you want clearance? You are trying to clamp the leg so it can't
twist/roll/etc. I highly suggest looking thru Scott's website for some
modification ideas to the main (single) bolt attach on the end of the leg.

I went up to Orillia aviation and there clamp mount was banana shaped .I
understand being tight but I don't think it should be distorting the clamp?

It sounds like they have a 309B mixed with a standard 310 not the
310B. Shouldn't be able to get much distortion (at least I wouldn't
think) with the 310B and 309B combo??

Cheers,

Bill , You couldn't mix a 309B with a 310 and get distortion, because the B
series of the 309 has longer legs I will call them on it, and the 310 also
has legs on it which would create a gap in the leg area. If they mixed a 309
with a 310B there would be distortion. The common thing I believe is that
the 309's have a rounded corner on them where the leg fits into and the legs
are square cut and I seen one where the guy didn't round the corner of the
legs and couldn't get them to fit properly. Just my opinion on this. Dale

Nope...that is not correct. The 705 only accepts the original "c" 310 and
the 3500 leg, the 309B only accepts the new flat bar stock 310 and the 3500
leg.
You see, I have the enigma machine!!!

Post by Warren & Marg Montgomery » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:34 am

HI Dale,

After 13:35 from Evertt to Dubai (6988 nm and M .86) I arrived safely
home with a shinny new 777 ER and Moose tail stinger.
Dropped 1500 at Sears for tools as well.
Nice workmanship on the parts!
Regards,
Warren
