[rebel-builders] Electronic fuel gauges/low fuel and oil ala

Post by Rebflyer » Sun Feb 19, 2012 10:31 am

Hi Roger,
I used the skysport capacitance style gage. Much easier to install prior
to tank closure. They work fine, but I would probably not do the thru the rib
again. I'd build a cup on the top of the wing and drop a tube straight in.
The reward for the engineering involved is not really worth it. I still dip my
tanks every flight. My concern was the fuel in the cockpit that looked like a
handle to me.(it's the firefighter in me). It's really not a concern to a
normal person. I do really like the low fuel alarm that a company called
Aircraft Extras has. You can find them at _http://www.aircraftextras.com_
(http://www.aircraftextras.com) . It works with auto fuel too, and they have lots of
other cool stuff! No, I'm not a part owner:) On that note, how visible is the
auto fuel in the sight tube? Especially after it clouds up? Has someone found
a tube that will withstand auto stuff? Just wondering.
