Whoa !! How come you have Matco's on # 333 - thought they went long
before that !! Do you have SILVER Matco wheels, or the old Gold ones ??
Sounds like you have newer axles ... the Matcos were smaller ....

Help, Wayne !!! Do you remember the diameters ????

The caliper mounting plate (Matco) that slides over the axle to be
attached to the flange - on the axle - only goes as far as the ridge or
increase in diameter of the axle from 3/4 to 7/8. Am I missing
something? I feel the hole in the caliper mounting plate should be 7/8
and slide right to the flange and that the ridge is for the bearing to
butt up against?? I don't have a 7/8 inch drill - any suggestions?

Thanks

Maybe we can get Tom Inglis to chime in here - he has silver Matcos
on his 912 Rebel ..... and they're too skinny !! :-) Make the nice
fat DICO tires into large diameter skinny tires ... A spacer in the
center of the wheel would help !

How about it Tom ?? Do you remember how that plate installs ??

If this is the case then I need to drill the hole out to 7/8.
Thanks for looking. I know you have even more snow than I do.

the axle nut regularily till this stops.

Looking at it thru mental telepathy...I imagine that step in the axle is
meant to go against the inner bearing. The torque plate is probably supposed
to float on the step area. When you assemble does it seem like the caliper
is stopping the wheel from seating where it should be? IF so then I bet the
plate needs to be opened up to fit the step like you originally suspected.
