WALTER KLATT

Moose C of G Empty

Post by WALTER KLATT » Sat Feb 18, 2012 2:41 pm

My Rebel on wheels with the 0320 was orginally at 925 pounds, and that was with a Warp Drive prop and bungee gear. My empty weight on the 1800 amphibs was originally 1200, but came out at 1250 on my last weighing, which I now use for my weight calcs when I go flying. But that also includes now a metal prop, survival gear, probably a few pounds of water trapped in my floats, grease in my wheels, paddle, other crap in my cabin, etc, etc.

And if I remember correctly, my empty c of g was about 10.6 both on wheels and on the amphibs. It didn't change by more than about .1. But that includes my survival gear stuffed into the tail. It was 9 point something before that. I have an Odyssey battery mounted forward of the firewall.

With that c of g, I can load it up real good with pax, fuel and baggage, and it flies just fine. My climb goes way down, but doesn't seem to hurt speed too much.

Moose C of G Empty

Post by carol and murray cherkas » Sat Feb 18, 2012 2:41 pm

OK so i didn't read it right. Maybe if you were to extrapolate( think thats
the word) and enter the empty weight for the moooooooose and adjust cof g
accordingly it might work.
I accept no responsibility for the outcome if there is one.
Must admit though that my figures do look good.

Have a great day

Budgie
