Wing Questions
Wing Questions
Just starting on my wings and confused as usual.
Chapter 10.2.12 states to drill out ALL holes in spar
caps. Then it states to put in 12 bolts in W-137 and
W-138. What goes in the other 12 holes of W-138? Tried
to look ahead in the manual but couldn't find
anything.
How much Pro-seal do I need to do a wing. I'm not sure
when I'll be able to get the other wing started and
only want to order enough for use now. And where is
the best place to order it or an equivilant?
Also, has anyone put lift rings in the wings for
future lift of the plane when putting on floats? Any
ideas?
Thanks,
Keith

Wing Questions
Keith..absolutely no need to put lift rings in. Pop the leading edge fairing
and use a short cable sling and an AN6 bolt thru the thimbles ...bolt
positoned under the upper carry thru tube between the wing attach bolt and
the fuselage. That way it can't slip anywhere.
One quart should be enough to do a tank if you are talking 3 bay Rebel...but
two on hand would be a good idea. It lasts a LONG time if you store it in
the fridge.....and buy the way I just happen to have two quarts of surplus
(mfg 11/2005) Flamemaster Sealpac available. $65cdn/qt + postage. First come
first served!!
Don't have a manual handy. Pretty sure it tells you all the bolts. All are
AN3 bolts. Make sure you have enough washers so you don't shoulder the nuts.
Cheers,
Wayne

Wayne,
Sorry, you are right. I just wasn't reading the manual
clearly enough. I had gotten very frustrated on
something else and I guess my mind wasn't all there.
Like usual.
What is the cost of your sealpac plus shipping in US
dollars? Shipping to HI 96786.
Thanks,
Keith

Wing Questions
Most of the time shipping via Canada post is cheaper to the USA than for me
to send one province over!!! I'll have a boo at online pricing for Xpress
Post to Hawaii and get back to you directly. I picked $65 Cdn as one of the
builders in Quebec found a source at that price.... even though Aircraft
Spruce and Wagaero are $77US/qt kit. I just don't need it and thought I'd
move it on to other builders. Our dollar is 87 cents + right now...so about
$57US/qt kit + postage.
If you get over to Maui you need to track one of my Rebel's down at
George(aka Kioki) Brown's farm.

Wing Questions
Thanks Wayne!
Don't know if I'll ever make it to Maui. Went to the
big Island last year. But I'm trying to build a house
in Minnesota also so funds are a little tight now.
Wife is in the Army and she retires in a little over a
year.

For USA proseal purchase I've gone to vansaircraft.com. They are happy to
sell to non-RVators. IIRC the price is a lot better than Spruce. Another
option anyway.

Wing Questions
Hi all!
Still working on the wing. Does anyone have a pattern for the doubler
section at the wing strut, the one with the 2 access holes on either side of
the spar?
Opinions concerning cutting access holes in the bottom tank skin?
What about any suggestions for nav and strobe lights? Thanks, Craig
