M14P ENGINE UPDATE 20 -- October 2005

Swanton VT / Bacau Romania

There is news concerning the continued production of the M14P radial
engines.
The Motorstar Factory of Bacau Romania and their U.S. dealer Gesoco
Industries of Swanton Vermont announces that there will be a price increase
for engines ordered after December 31 2005. The price increase reflects the
higher cost of obtaining the necessary new parts to produce new engines. As
the carburetors and magnetos have been out of production for several years,
the rapidly depleting stock of new old stock parts has seen a dramatic price
increase.
There is a second issue relating to the remaining stock of new old stock
castings and forgings. There are only enough of some of these castings and
forgings to make parts to produce about 10 new engines. The cost of
producing new forging dies and molds would make the engine price
prohibitive.
We have also been selling factory-remanufactured engines made form
serviceable parts removed from the M14V-26 helicopter engines. We have
enough M14V-26 cores to produce two more engines and our stock will be
depleted. We will continue this program if we can secure good used engine
cores at a reasonable price.
The factory will continue to make overhauls on customers engines and will
produce remanufactured engines.
