George,
I'm close to an engine only in my dreams, but I wonder if you could give us
any updates on the R-263 --- for those of us who've not heard OSH reports or
other.
Also, one thing I've sometimes wondered, would it be feasible in the later
stages of R-263 development to offer the engine ungeared but with
supercharger? This would fit an interest in getting the ungeared 125hp (and
fuel savings), but at any altitude.

R-263 update ?
R-263 update ?
Ben,
The R-263 program status is as follows:
1. We will be traveling to Romania in the middle of September. We expect to
see the prototype engine running at that time.
2. We expect a second prototype here in October/November to perform flight
tests and to developed the engine performance specifications in flight. (we
have an airframe we are working on now for this)
3. We expect to spend all our money (and then some) on tooling to produce
the engine.
4. We are planning to produce a firewall forward kit for the basic Rebel and
the Hatz biplane. This would include engine mount, cowling, oil tank, oil
cooler, fluid lines etc. I expect to have these available June - July of
2006.
