Murphy cleans up at Oshkosh !!

Post by Bob Patterson » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:47 am

Hi Gang !!

We just got in from the long trip home from OSH -
this was the best year EVER !! :-)

The great team from Murphy had 3 aircraft in the
booth - a Moose, an O-320 Rebel on amphibs, and
an Experimental Light Sport qualified Rebel, with an
80 hp. Rotax 912 !! Two of them were entered for
judging, as all 3 were customer aircraft - kindly brought
to the show by their owners .....

Also on the grounds, down by Building A, was
the T-Moose - a Moose with a Pratt & Whitney PT-6
TURBINE !! This was also a customer aircraft,
being displayed by the company that is selling the
turbine conversion kits.....

When the judging was completed, the awards
were presented on Saturday night at the Theater
in the Woods -

WE SCORED A "HAT-TRICK" !!!

THREE (3) awards for Murphy kits ....

Julius won the Reserve Grand Champion - Seaplane
Silver Lindy for his superbly crafted Rebel on amphibs,

Sean accepted the Bronze Lindy for his excellent
work on Rob's Moose,

and the T-Moose won the Plaque for workmanship
on a homebuilt seaplane !!!!

(Pictures to follow soon ....)

What a GREAT achievement !!! Especially considering
these were ALL Canadian registered aircraft, surrounded
by a SEA of RV's !! Gives you some idea of just HOW
superb these Murphy aircraft were !!!!! :-)

CONGRATULATIONS to ALL !!

You deserve the recognition for your efforts !!

And for the rest of us ......

Keep rivetting - it really IS worth it !! :-)

YOU could be up there collecting a trophy -
or .... just pulling a big fish out of some northern lake ! ;-)

.......bobp

PS
Thanks to the great teamwork of the factory people
and the award-winning Murphy builders, we sold at least
11 new Murphy kits !! Look for some new names on the list ! :-)

Murphy cleans up at Oshkosh !!

Post by mbetti » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:47 am

I agree all the mentioned planes were nicely built and attractive to the eye. I was though a little disappointed that there wasn't an Elite to look at on the field.

Thanks Curt !

It was good to catch up with so many Murphy builders - I'm
sorry I didn't have a lot of time to talk to them all, as we were
kept very busy with NEW Rebel customers !! :-) :-)

Maybe we'll see you at the next Murphy Builders Meeting,
on Sunday, September 11th, at Brampton A/P ....
