Rebel: rear spar attach fitting

Post by Jesse Jenks » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:39 am

Can someone tell me if the rear spar fitting attaches to the spar with 6X
AN-3 bolts, or 6X 3/16 rivets?
The manual doesn't seem to specify. It does say to ream the holes though, so
that makes me think they want bolts there, but 6 bolts seems like a lot.
Thanks.
Jesse

Bolts.
I really don't think you'd want to attempt flight with rivets there...
In addition to transfering the forces to the fuselage, the bolts have to
keep the fitting itself from rotating when the force is applied, and you
wouldn't want rivets loosening one by one or shearing.

Jesse,

I just finished doing mine and used the six bolts.

Seemed to work fine.
