I weighed my 6 pack of flight instruments and thought I'd share the
number ;(

Would you believe 9 lbs? Add at least another 5 or so for a vacuum
pump, regulator, and plumbing and it makes a glass panel look like a
significant weight savings now that they are affordable and more reliable.

Hi Ken

I figured about the same, so am planning on a dynon in my Elite. My only
concern is condensation during storage, but I guess standard instruments
could suffer from that as well.

For what it's worth, I will throw our two cent's worth in. We are using the
Grand Rapids Engine Monitor-- the original version. It takes some getting
used to but it has a lot of information and is a good value for the money at
$1000. We decided on this EIFS after talking to a pilot flying a new RV
from Oregon the Sun & Fun and back, stopping in Twin Falls for fuel. He
said that he really liked it. Small-- low cost. We'd do it again.

I used the Grand Rapids EIS in both my Rebel and Kitfox over 6 years now and
really like the small units capabilities for the price. I would buy their
product again.
