Ok. I think we have the duct tape pretty well covered, that's about a case
now if anyone's keeping track. LOL

Ted's spare parts and tools for AK trip

Post by Dave Ricker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:31 am

LOL! Speed tape, that must be the same thing we call racer tape or 200 MPH tape
when it's used on race cars. Usually qualifies if it's the same color as your
car. ;o0

They even use duct tape (looks like it anyway, the aluminum tape Ted list on
his site, they call it "speed tape") on the big jets to temporarily cover
dents in wings and such. Looks funny when you see what looks like regular
duct tape on your airliner wing.

I really thing he should take some duct tape along!! LOL

A roll of heavy safety wire and duct tape can splice most
everything....including the lift struts on an Aeronca Sedan I'm told.

Ted,

Just some more ideas for your tools and parts list to go along with what
you
already have posted on your site.

- Duct tape.

- A few stainless steel hose clamps, two at least 3 inch diameter to
assist
splicing M14 exhaust sections together.

- Length of hose (emergency fuel line quality, clamps for same)

- Duct tape.

- M14 specialty wrenches? Exhaust spanner, mag nut wrench.

- JB weld.

- Duct tape

- Simple Siphon gizmo (the shake to start, no sucky required, siphon -
eBay
search "simple siphon"

- A few wrap ties.

- Small coil of electrical wire.

- Duct tape.

- WD-40 or similar.

- Wing nuts (in case you lose all your wrenches?)

- And finally - you can fix anything with duct tape.
