Bob, I read your comment on some folks mixing up and cutting the stringers because of
the older manual. I actually was headed in that direction but was concerned enough
to get the new manual. So here is a second follow up question. Does the thick tank
skin go on the outside of the leading edge skin where they meet at the main spar?
BTW, the Rebel community is awesome. I was standing in my garage with a long face
because I was out of clecos and could not get any more for a week. A local Elite
builder (Sam Archer) lent me a couple hundred and I was back in business!

Just a thought - for anyone buying a 'almost finished' Rebel -
especially the early ones ....
The old manuals had a 'cut-away' drawing of the fuel tanks which
DID NOT show the stringers in the top of the tank. Some Rebels were
actually built with the top stringers cut out of this area !!! This
would be EXTREMELY dangerous - like cutting the main spars ! PLEASE
inspect this area carefully - there are still some out there like this !
And there are some that were "patched up" when the builders realized the
problem - BEWARE !! This MAY be why they are selling cheap !!
There are ways to do a repair, but it will involve a lot of disassembly
and close work with the factory - they WILL be pleased to help !
Anybody out there with a 912 or a small Subaru who can give Frank
some encouragement about how well the Rebel flies with smaller engines ???
We sure enjoy ours with the 912 !! Cheap FUN flying !! :-)

Stringers thru the wing tank and other thoughts
Glad you avoided that problem ! The tank skin goes under the leading edge
skin - better streamlining :-) (as if it mattered a whole lot .. ;-) )
Sam & Sandy are REALLY terrific people !! They sent a box of used
de-burring drill bits up to pass out at the Rebel Builders meeting - just
so folks could see what the different bits look like ! And they stopped
by to visit us in Brampton on a trip nearby - wished we both had time to
go for a flight ...
Of course, we like to think that ALL Rebel builders are REALLY GREAT
people - and they ARE !!! :-)
