Wings
I just started building the wings. Do you complete one wing at a time or
do you do a couple pages of construction on one and then go to the other
to do the same?
Thanks,

Wings
If you've got the room do both wings at the same time. Take each one to a
similar stage before proceeding. That way instructions are clear in your
mind and not trying to remember when you do the second wing. Also this way
you only open the proseal a few times as well. Spar caps / tank rib & tank
bulkhead riveting, bottom tank skin & corner filleting and then top skin
going on.

Wings
On the subject of wings, I didn't look to far into the construction of the
wing and maybe it isn't mentioned. Which wing gets the pitot tube?
Which wing ussually gets the landing light?
Roughly on average how many hours will it take to do the wings?
Wayne, I heard I need to get some nut plates for the wings. If you could
email me a price and availability to mbetti@up.net

Left wing pitot usually, as well as landing light(s) if only in one
wing...although the choice is yours. Doesn't work any different on one or
the other.
If no inspections are needed before closing..ie US build or AULA... I'm 170
to 180 hours per >SET< of Rebel wings..no tips. If it needs to be inspected
before close add about 10 hours for the extra nonsense.
Sending you a PM on the anchor nuts Mike.

One of the builders mentioned getting nutplates from Wayne for the hinges. I just read the wing instructions and they say to cut inspection holes for hinge access. Is this different from earlier instructions of the Elite? I just got done bugging Wayne on getting some plates and now maybe I don't need them. I have the instructions on PDF if anyone wants to view.
Thanks,

Mike,
Don't forget to figure out how to flip over the wings. It is done several
times while building.
If "mirroring" is giving you problems, get a digital camera of the prints
and put the camera's software to work.

Wings
I built mine as per the instructions, when I still believe the instructions
were God's Word. However, I recommend the plate nuts. Just take a look at
how accessible these nuts are going to be through these little inspection
holes. And one wing is worse than the other, due to the orientation of the
rib flanges. The instructions don't say anything about that, of course. At
the very least, you're going to need a special tool, or a combination of
extensions, wrenches, etc. to tighten them. And if they ever come off,
things get really tough. By the way, you do have to loosen these nuts when
you put the top skins on, because some of the rivet holes in the TE are
right in line with the hinges, leaving no room for the shop end of the rivet
until it is pulled. So, by all means, use plate nuts.

things get really tough. By the way, you do have to loosen these nuts when
you put the top skins on, because some of the rivet holes in the TE are
right in line with the hinges, leaving no room for the shop end of the rivet
until it is pulled. So, by all means, use plate nuts.

Does the 2" of trailing top wing skin remain on the trailing edge of the

It forms (sort of) a gap seal with the top of the ailerons and flaps.
