First Flight (the world's greatest aeroplane)

Post by Sam & Sandi Archer » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:01 am

Howdy, just a note (it's sure hard to write with this big grin), but I
wanted to let everyone know that after 8 years "Elite" #556 is flying.
We did not listen to Bob P. We changed many things and added much more
to the instrument panel than was necessary, gull wing doors, fold up
windows, entrance step, electric flaps, leather seats with comfor foam,
0360 Lyc. from Aerosport in Kamloops. The FAA said it was airworthy on
December 8th, 2004 and on December 28, 2004 I proved them to be correct.
It is able to fly hands off. It was alot of fun for my wife and I. We
met many great people along the way. This builders list as well as the
help and encouragement from Murphy Aircraft is what made it possible.
Thanks to all of you. Now too can say as Curt Martin often says keep at
it, it is worth it.

First Flight (the world's greatest aeroplane)

Bob, not sure which one you're referring to, but there has been
an Elite flying out of my home field here in Langley for many
years, and it is on tricycle gear. In fact, I think it was one of
the very first customer built Elites anywhere. So maybe this one
is number 3.
