MAM Customer Satisfaction - was SAFETY ALERT SR/Moose Quick

Post by Ryan Mowat » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:58 am

Greetings Mike,

Just want to let you know that after building my first airplane - a
moose - you may have seen it at the booth this summer at OSK - white and
blue on floats - that the Murphy product is an excellent product and I
have really enjoyed the building experience. I would like to try
building an RV some day too, but when I wanted to build I could not find
an RV high wing with 400 hp on floats - it is a different kind of plane.
I think the RV 10 would be a great plane to fly and build, and I have a
lot of respect for Mr. Van.

If you choose to build a Moose you will find problems with the plans and
some parts that do not fit. But the factory was and has been great to
work with. It is not a perfect process - but neither am I.

Good luck on your search for another plane to build.

If you want to stop by and go flying I'd love to trade rides with you.

Build

I'm just a lurker on this e-mail list as I dream of one day building a
Moose
and flying to Alaska, but it seems to me that there are plenty of issues

with MAM and disgruntled customers.

I anxiously went to the Murphy tent last year at SNF to get more info on
the
Moose. I don't remember the name of the gentleman at the booth, but my
first
impression was one of arrogance. My wife felt the same way. I was
eager to
ask questions and get some information and all he was interested in was

selling me a brochure. Most companies are eager to get their pamplets
and
information out to the public for free yet they feel the need to charge
for it. I
understand they probably get a bunch of tire kickers, but I have built
and
flew 2 planes and I'm working on my third so I have some idea of what
I'm
talking about.

I hope my impressions are wrong, but I was looking for what others are
experiencing before I decide to spend my money.
