Air Riveter Requirements

Post by randy (psi) » Fri Feb 17, 2012 5:39 pm

Hello I have just purchased the tail section of a rebel and I am waiting for
delivery. In the meantime I am getting my work space and tools in order. I
have a compressor and plan on using the pneumatic air riveter that comes
with the Murphy Tool Kit. Can anyone tell me what the air requirements are
for the riveter I want to insure that the compressor that I got for
Christmas is large enough. (5HP, 25 gallon, 8.2 CFM@40PSI, 5.6CFM@90PSI)

Thanks

Randy

Hi There,
A Rebel builder out here has just asked me what final =
measurements I used to set up the ailerons, I can't find the relevant =
piece of paper!

Has anyone out there got the answer? i.e. with neutral flaperon, how =
many inches deflection up and down do you set your ailerons at?

If you have the answer it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Randy your compressor sounds about the same size as mine and I've never had a
problem yet even with the big SS Rivets. ...Wray

Air Riveter Requirements

Post by Brian Cross » Fri Feb 17, 2012 5:39 pm

Hi There

Concerning your compressor size, my unit is only 2.5 HP and it only comes on
about every 10 minutes when you are riveting at full speed i.e. a wing.

Welcome to Rebel building. It's a great way to use up all your spare time
for 5 or so years!

Enjoy yourself and keep the questions coming. There are some great builders
etc. on line who can help you a great deal.

Best Regards

Brian #328R
