Ryan, The only person I know, personally, that is running a Prince "P" tip
on a Lycoming is Keith Weston. He is President of the Collingwood Ontario
R.A.A. Chapter. To the best of my knowledge he is quite happy with the prop.
(as he has flown it for some years now on a Zenith) I don't have an e-mail
for him but his phone number is 705-444-1422 if you want to get his honest
opinion! Are you sure you want to go 160 H.P. and not have them build it as
150?? The 160 H.P. is just a diffferent set of pistons that raise
compression, stresses, Octane of fuel required (if you plan to fly floats,
100LL is hard to find at Marina's). etc., but it shouldn't raise the price
and if they are question it!

Rebel? Seems to save alot of weight and $$$$. Wood also handles harmonics
better than metal (i.e. Canard folks, long ez, cozy....etc). Just curious.

We just ordered our engine (O-320, 160hp) from Aerosport power up in
Kamloops. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Anyway, with
all this talk about weight we are considering putting a wood/composit prop

Rebel? Seems to save alot of weight and $$$$. Wood also handles harmonics

There have been some problems with the Warp Drive composite props on
the 160 HP. - no problems on the 150 HP.

The only consideration with a wood prop is that you should make up
a cover for it - that lets air circulate, but blocks sunlight. The sun
will destroy the varnish and let moisture into the wood. We have replaced
several wood props before we went to a cover. I think this would also be
a GOOD IDEA for composite props - all composite gliders are painted white,
and kept out of the sun when possible ....

When parking your aircraft, with a wood prop, always keep the blades
horizontal. If they are vertical, water will run down to the lower blade
and be absorbed. This will throw the balance of the prop off, over time !!

Ryan, there is nothing else I can recommend for beefing the firewall, that
hasn't already been discussed in the "firewall warping" section of the
archives.

P.S. Didn't realize you were in Washington State and wanted to fly in and
out of the glacier ponds!!! Maybe you need a Supercharged engine so you
always have that 160HP???? Could you fill the floats with helium??? Now
there's an idea!!!!!!!!!
