front leading edge stringer...

Post by Jean Poirier » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:46 am

Hello!

Yesterday night I had a little hour free to put on my Rebel.... I have drill the last stringer on the right wing leading edge. Just at the time I had to leave, I saw that I have drill between the #5 and #6 rib, and the manual say to not do it. I had no time to make research in the manual to chech for the consequence... someone can tell me?

P.S.: If sometime (rarely), you see french exchange between Gilles St-Pierre and me, I t is just because much easier to us! and because it is nothing really important!

front leading edge stringer...

Heck...I meant to look in a manual because I don't remember leaving out
holes anywhere doing the stringers in ANY wings I've done! Is this something
to do with those W601/2 doublers?

Jean Poirier

front leading edge stringer...

Post by Jean Poirier » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:46 am

Hello Wayne

No it is not with the doubler. Under the leading edge skin, there is 2
stringers. On the rear one, manual ask to not drill between rib 5 and 6.
It is in the area where the strut attach (there is also an inspection hole)
May be they will ask to drill later ( pre-punched hole are already in the
skin). Anyway I have use a new stringer and I will use the other one on
the left wing leading edge in the front area where it need all hole!

Thanks
Jean
