Are there any decend quality alternatives to the scott tailwheel at a more
reasonable price? I've heard lots of stories about poorly built maule
wheels and I'm thinking about the big matco tailwheel. Has anyone on the
list used or inspected one of these

Hi Drew
I have inspected one closely and think it would be worth trying. I
recall that their factory said it was available in the right width for
my tailspring but I'm not sure which tailspring I talked to them
about... They also showed me that the kickout or release to swivel angle
was adjustable.

Thanks Ken Their website says either a 1.25' or 1.5' tailspring will work
I'm using the origional fiberglass tailspring right now and it works pretty
good but changing it wouldn't be that big a job.

Hi Drew
I had a Matco on my Christavia- the larger one with inflatable tire. I broke
the lock pin on a bad cross wind one day and that was the end of that.
Replaced it with a 3200 scott. Somebody had them on at about $550 us. Can't
rememer if it was Leavens or Aircraft Spruce.
