trip

Hi Wayne,Well here is the Readers Digest version
We recently returned from flying our Rebel (0-320/amphibs) north from
London ON. to James Bay then west to near Prince George BC.then
return.Three and a half weeks, 61.1hrs air-time,5 quarts of oil,lots and
lots of 100LL,85knots air-speed,45-133knots ground speed,6.5-8USgph
dependant on atmosphere and leaning. The airplane performed unbelievably
well with 2 people, gear, full fuel.We had lots of gear stuffed in the
floats for CofG.Everywhere, the people we met on our route were
absolutely fantastic, one of our best trips ever.Had supper with a
Provincial Legislative committee in Moosenee, saw the Governor General
(her plane was parked next to the Rebel)in BC.We explored an abandoned
1930-50's gold mine in the middle of nowhere, blew a hydraulic pressure
line while landing in Yorkton SK,visited a friend's ranch on the Fraser
River, much fishing, found the farm my grandfather homesteaded in 1900 in
Saskatchewan where my dad was born.
The Rebel MADE the trip GREAT.We slept in it a few times, landed it in
cross winds so strong we could not taxi and my wife had to get out and
walk holding the tail, landed on water whenever possible, camped out quite
a bit.But ,the thing that really stood out was the friendship and
hospitality from everyone we met.
Would be glad to talk more or answer any questions..............Angus
