Yup, Ray, totally awesome, alright. When you go into a place like
that, you can't help but feel very, very privileged. Keep pulling
those rivets, guys. It's definitely worth it. And Wayne, if you
can drive all the way out here, you should be able to handle an
easy 3 day jaunt in your Rebel, or 2 days if you push it.

Pictures of Walter and Ray Rebel at Phantom Lake
Hi Walter
Still working away at the fuselage, one of the doors is on, the other being
skinned the next time I'm in "the shed".
I've replaced the 2 FUS 70's I trashed on the fuselage, new ones arrived
with the wing kit (well...most of the wing kit but that's another story
:-) ), and they look the part now. Also got the pump and reservoir for the
float gear to mount in the fuselage, and a pulley to copy your system of
raising the water rudders. (those pictures I took of yours and Dennis's are
a godsend...I've referred to them more times than I can remember)
Been buying a few extras off ebay the last few months.. headsets, compass,
alt, vac gauge, etc. Don't need them yet, but they can live in a box till
the time comes.
The engine is still at least 6 months away, but I don't need it yet so no
bother. They are looking at a governor for the prop from MT in Germany, that
will allow me reverse pitch when I'm on floats...it makes life much easier
to be able to stop and even reverse !
Weather a bit colder here again...about 6c first thing, won't be long before
the frosty mornings are with us again.
Enjoy your summer and thanks again for the pic's
Nigel
