Hi Murray,
I hope you're back on line. Sorry to hear about your accident but it sounds
like it wasn't as bad as it could have been and you're back in the air again.
Anybody flying with the factory tailwheel would do themselves a favor to take
it off and install a Scott 3200, as Murray did, before you have to spend a
lot more than the $600 US for the Scott.
I was fortunate to have a very good pilot, whom I have much confidence,
refuse to even go for a ride in my first project (a Kitfox) until I removed the
factory tailwheel and installed a Scott. I have since witnessed a few and heard
of several more unfortunate accidents with cheap tailwheels. the tailwheel on
conventional geared aircraft are not a place to cut corners, IMHO.
