Marking your avionic & electrical wires...

I'm seriously considering trying to label a ton of unmarked (mostly all
white!) wires behind my panel. I found this vendor with what looks like
a really slick product to label wires.

http://www.grafoplast.com/ultimate/ultimate.html The "012C Trasp Box"
might be a somewhat reasonably priced way to try this product out.
Since they are in Denver (where I'm at) I will try to stop by their this
week and post my impressions (if I receive feedback to this email that
is expressing group interest in learning more about this vendor).

I'd appreciate any feedback from folks out there who may have used other
products (or this one) to label their wires.

Hi Ted and All,

I know this info is too late for you Ted if your wires are already
installed. I thought I would pass on what I did for those who still have to
wire things up.

I hand wrote an appropriate label on index card stock. I used aprox. half of
the lined spacing as to height. I then cut the little label from the card
stock and slide it inside of a piece of clear heat shrink. The heat shrink
was then slid over the wire and shrunk. Nothing fancy. You could print out
the labels using the computer. I choose to hand write as I went along to
save the need to think of what labels I would need ahead of time and then
bring them to the shop.

Just one way that worked for me,
