Morning All My little girl is at Trent U in Peterbough spending my engine
fund. Is there anywhere on the river that a person could land and dock for
a brief visit. If I remember correctly the airport is a looong way from town.
TIA drew

Drew, there is probably enough room above the hydro dam acros from
Trent...but the currents probably pretty strong, not sure what the shore is
like there or if there are any hydro lines stung across. Have driven the
river front many many times to visit my aunt in that end of town, but never
paid much attention to float landing areas.. I don't think there is anywhere
you can legally land on the actual Trent system in that area but you might
get away with landing in Little Lake right down town and nose butting your
airplane up against the Holiday Inn wharf or the city docks are probably
pretty empty right now and there is a pier (well there was before the
flood!). Try calling the Peterboro Holiday Inn to see if the manager has a
problem with you using their little warf 1-705-743-1144 (but you would have
to nose butt it as retainer wall is too high to put a wing over).
Peterborough Marina Maicey Benjamin - Marina Manager 705-745-8787 or the
city marina water taxi guy (705-761-2315) and then act dumb and just do it.
We land in Little Lake Midland and it's inside the town limits without any
problems. Should be able to the same in Peterborough (at least once!).
Yes the real airport is about 8 miles out of town to the South/west.

Thanks Wayne. I'll check with holiday inn before I go. I figure with all
the parks workers on strike/work to rule they won't be bothered chasing
anyone away. Playing dumb works pretty good at wildwood near st.Marys.
