flush fuel caps

Ben,
We went through this some time ago and used the Usher fuel caps for
curved skin installation. They are what is used on the RVs I believe.
Our main reason is that the marine fuel necks / caps supplied by MAM
were so poor that the cap retention chain attachment inside the neck
prevented the cap from sealing. We elected to put the Usher neck flange
on the outside of the skin rather the inside as on the RVs. This will
give water on the wing a better chance to run off although some may lie
on the cap and sneak in. A secondary reason is that the neck can be
replaced from the exterior if ever needed. The 1/16 neck flange
thickness is a small drag price to pay. I would definitely go this
route again. We are will not likely be on floats so the "grab handle"
issue does not affect us. One further consideration is that the tanks
will have to be properly vented with the Usher caps as they seal
completely.
