Just a quick note to report the outcome of my changes.
I tried a friends 76-52 prop (way too fine) then repitched my 76-56 to
54" ----Works great.
Moved the oil-cooler from the lower left fire-wall to the left rear
engine baffle ---------Temps are now in the 195-210F range-----Perfect.
The 52" prop dropped my 75% power cruise to 80kts and had the 0-320 near
red-line on take-off, the 54" put me at 2500+ on take-off and 90kts
cruise power.
While pre-flighting after the Orillia float plane fly-in I found a
slight leak from my oil-cooler spraying onto the fire-wall and pulled it
off for a trip to the oil-cooler shop in Winnipeg,It was not repairable
nor was the second cooler we sent from a wrecked C-150 so I had to buy
an overhauled cooler and got it back on last Friday. The overhauled one
is not very pretty but it's tagged and has nice new paint on it.
Next chore for me is repairing a leak in an out-board float compartment
at the step, where the gear-hinge bolt goes.

nice Rebel,sorry we did not get to visit you at home but hope to do that
soon.

numbers are bang on with my 74 X 54, with 2500 RPM take-off and
cruise at 90 knots (105 mph). My WOT top speed is about 2720 and
120+ mph. Again, this is with the 150 hp 0320 Rebel amphib.

The 74-54 prop is a McCauley Klip-Tip that I bought with my 0-320 engine off
a buddy's 7GCB.So my engine and prop have been partners since 1960.
Sorry I can not say about the water take-off.I am still trying to feel out
the right spot on the floats for best performance. Maybe bobp could step in
here as he and Robin watched Jennifer and I depart from the water at
Orillia.

Mine is the Sensenich. I don't have any actual measurements off the water,
and it ranges anywhere from about 10 seconds lightly loaded into a breeze to
upwards of 20 seconds as my load goes up. I can usually get 2 people and a
good load off in 25 seconds or less. Climb solo is 1100, and 800 loaded. Of
course, those numbers drop in hot weather and at higher altitudes.

prop and oil temps
Mine is the Sensenich. I don't have any actual measurements off
the water, and it ranges anywhere from about 10 seconds lightly
loaded into a breeze to upwards of 20 seconds as my load goes
up. I can usually get 2 people and a good load off in 25 seconds
or less. Climb solo is 1100, and 800 loaded. Of course, those
numbers drop in hot weather and at higher altitudes.

If so, yourAngus, I assume your prop diameters are 74 not 76.take-off andnumbers are bang on with my 74 X 54, with 2500 RPMabout 2720 andcruise at 90 knots (105 mph). My WOT top speed isrepitched my 76-56 to120+ mph. Again, this is with the 150 hp 0320 Rebel amphib.
