round engine rebel

It is a Rebel with the 7 cylinder 100hp Rotec radial engine made in
Australia. They plane to have it meet the Sport Aircraft specs if that ever
really happens.

Ralph Baker

round engine rebel

Post by Ralph Baker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:20 am

While on a motorcycle trip Sue and I stopped in at MAM and had a
pleasant visit with Darryl, Colleen, and Robin and a shop tour. The
shop was building a Rebel with the Australian 110 HP Rotec (not Rotax!)
radial. It had a smooth round cowl and looked really good. It is
expected to fit the USA light sport requirements. There were a few
modifications in the sheet metal forward of the main carry through to
accommodate the round cowl but still very much a Rebel. I suggested
that it be named the Muskrat. I would buy one for the appearance alone.

Did it have fabric tail and half wing like a UL rebel?

I can't be absolutely sure, but I think it had the standard Rebel
fabric, not the Canadian UL version.
