The improved meeting format, with 10-15 minute "forums"
focussing on each Murphy model, and led by active builders, is
working very well. Everyone seems to be getting more immediately
useful information, and we're getting great 'show & tells' to
go with that info !
Thanks to Wayne O'Shea for the Rebel forum, his donation
of the rescue marker, and for bringing his hydraulic wheel-skis
down to show us (yes, they WERE attached to his Rebel ;-) )
Thanks to Al Hepburn, for the Elite forum, and for flying
all the way down from Pettawawa (~ 300 mi.) in his twin, to qualify
as the builder who traveled furthest to attend !
And thanks to Don Cormack, for the Moose forum. Don didn't
concentrate just on the Moose, he brought along a great assortment
of his "most useful tools", and passed them around.
Jim Albright won the Rescue Marker rocket, and Bill Pollack
won a childs Rebel T-shirt (which we're saving for his next visit.)
Bill also did a show 'n tell of his new 2 blade prop & hub for
his new M-14P engine.
Lots of useful tips & tricks exchanged ! Thanks to all
who helped !!
Jim Cole has offered to host another Fly-In/drive-in Builders
Visit at his beautiful grass strip in June - we'll let everyone
know the date, as soon as we can find a clear weekend !
Rebel Ramble '04 will run from July 17th to July 24th,
and the "Ramble to the North" will be going to Moosonee, on
James Bay, and back for the Lumberjack Festival in Kapuskasing !
We will continue on to Oshkosh for the big show, leaving on
July 25th for Manistique, Clintonville, anmd OSH ! More details
SOON !!! :-)
Regular Builders Meetings will resume on Sunday, Sept. 19th -
hope to see you all then !

As for the Brampton Rebel meeting...turn out was a bit disappointing
...especially considering the effort AND EXPENSE (many dozen
donuts/coffee/pop aren't free for them, but always are for all the attendies
as well as 1/2 the hanger owners that know when to hit the shack for a free
Sunday meal!) that Bob and Anna have gone through for each of these meetings
for many years. I was down there at 11:55 and Bob and Anna pulled in a few
minutes later. Spent an hour setting up and talking and one other person
showed up by 1pm. Then they started trickling in for a total of maybe 15/16
by around 2pm. WE had a good meeting, told some tales, I sold some stuff &
donated a SureFind rescue streamer for the attendance draw..since the
factory has pretty much left B & Anna high and dry for support items such as
shirts/hats or anything of that nature.
Lots of wierd looks as I landed and taxi'd in on skis though!! Told all the
hanger owners, that popped their heads out, that I heard a cold front was
coming through!
Cheers,
Wayne

Bob, put some weight in the back! I added a gallon (10lbs) of water to
each
rear float compartment and it made a big difference.
First landing I did on glassy water just about required a change of
pants.
I
went into the shoulder harness so hard I thought I was going over!
