Hi all
Has anyone placed their static ports in the tunnel area? Were the results
positive and how far back were they placed? Thanks to those who answer...

All I know is that it won't work worth a $hit on the nose sides simulating a
Cessna 172 or earlier C182. I've reverted to leaving my alternate static
valve open to cabin to get a balance of what's coming in from outside and
inside the cabin....and know that most people have given up and just have
the ports open on the gauges behind the instrument panel. You need a clean
air area on the Rebel, that's for sure. Maybe the side of your tailcone's
the ticket..... or out on a wingtip pitot tube like most of the rag
airplanes.

Static Ports
hi,
i have a 1965 182. the primary static port is on the side of the boot
cowl. i have two ports aft of the baggage area with very nice dams in
front of them. they were added to provide a source for my stec auto
pilot.
all seem to work well.
good luck, it does not seem to be a science, more like trial and
success?

Static Ports
Hi Steve,
I looked through some of my 35mm photos I took of Steve Sloan's Rebel at
Arlington 3-4(?) years ago. My photos of his Rebel show that he had installed
a static port on the left side of the fuselage a couple inches ahead of
bulkhead D, and a couple inches above the top edge of the bottom corner wrap.
I know it was a static port because he had it nicely labeled on the exterior
fuselage.
There are several photos of his Rebel in the archives, but none show this
static port location.
I have no idea how well it may have worked for him. He last posted a message
to this list on 2/27/04.
Perhaps if he is listening...
