Here's another idea: I wonder if any Lyc-Murphy folks have tried tuned
exhaust, such as from www.skydynamics.com. Some chance tuned exhaust would
get another 10hp out of the engine, so you'd keep your same prop and get full
power cruise (and better climb rpm too), and potentially even save a little
gas money.
Honest, I'm not just trying to dream up more ways to spend money. :) I
really don't know if the tuned exhaust makes enf difference to matter. Or,
novice me, maybe the Lycoming exhaust provided by Murphy is already
considered "tuned". (I saw some possible implication of that from a 2001
post here by Rick Ford.)
Also, maybe this same type of question could be branched off to asking about
Ellison throttle body carbs.

Save your money ! The Forsling exhaust that Murphy supplies works
great on the O-320....... any other claims from "tuners" are just , well,
interesting claims. Believe me, if there were something out there that
gave 10 more HP, EVERYBODY would already have it !!! :-)
I think the Ellison injector fits the same category - might be
useful for aerobatics ....
So, as our famous ING spokesman says "Save your money !" ;-) :-)
And your time - Just "GET IT FLYING !!" :-) It IS worth it !! :-)
