Electrical System

Post by Steve Halvorsen » Sat Feb 18, 2012 8:55 am

Getting ready to start laying out our electrical system for the Moose and
have a question that has to be answered before we go to far into it. 12 OR
24 Volt? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??
Want to start getting our lights and other things ordered.

I know that we would use less amperage with 24 V but are we better off with
12 V as we can use automotive parts, lights ect.

Thanks for your replies.

Hi Steve,

In case you did not know there is a great resource when it comes to things
electrical. At:

aeroelectric-list@matronics.com

You can subscribe to the aeroelectric list at:
http://www.matronics.com/subscription

Bob Nuckolls who has the:
http://www.aeroelectric.com/
and others have been very helpful with support on the wiring of the Moose
which I am currently neck deep into.

The aeroelectric archives will have info on 14v vs 28v

We elected to go 14v ... just seemed the practical thing to do.

Regards,
Don B

Bought the book and am in the process of reading it. Also have been following

Thanks for the input.
