control column pushrod rotational bearing

Post by Ralph Baker » Sat Feb 18, 2012 12:08 am

There have been concerns about the control rod end at the bellcrank
rotating in the screw threads in the aluminum tube plug. I could not
make Wayne's spacer idea work satisfactorily. Aircraft Spruce has a
solution on page 131 of the latest catalog as "Rod End Swivel Bearing",
P/N 05-01021 @ US$23.85. The outside diameter is nominally 5/8" and
there is enough wall to turn it down to fit inside MAM supplied 5/8"
tubing. A female rod end is then threaded on the 1/4-28 end to be
bolted to the bell crank at the left.

This may be fixing a "non problem" but I'll sleep better.
