Dear Wayne & Dave,
The set up of the trim horn (EL-36) on the Elite appears to be different to
the up loaded pictures of the damaged Rebel section.
A friend of mine who is a retired engineer was helping me do the trim
section/ servo section, advised me to use a doubler underneath the horn.
When I attached the trim horn(EL-36) to the elevator trim skin, I added a
section of surplus skin doubler 70mm long x 65 mm wide underneath the horn
and on top of the skin, such that one section of the doubler overlapped the
edge of the skin and the spar as well as the skin & the riblet.
I then riveted the doubler with three rivets along all sides. The horn was
then attached as per the section 3.6.5. with three rivets either side.
Regards,
Greg. Gordon. Elite 724.
