I have been fitting the channel for the torque tube hanger as well as the
torque tubes themselves. I have a couple of questions I hope someone may be
able to answer.
1. According to my manual (#687R), after fitting/rivetting the hanger bracket
to the channel, and the channel to bulkheads F&G, I'm to install a strap to
tie the two channels together BEHIND the hanger bracket. Also I'm to install
gussets at each end of the channels to tie the channel to bulkheads F&G. Would
anyone have a photo of how this was done? It seems to me there is very little
real estate left on bulkhead F to get this done. Would really appreciate a
photo.
2. With the wing attached to the fuselage, the flaperons attached to the wing,
and the flaperon in the NEUTRAL position, is the trailing edge of the flaperon
supposed to be even with the trailing edge of the fairing box? OR is the
trailing edge of the flaperon higher (approx 1 1/8") than the trailing edge of
the fairing box. My interpretation of the neutral position places the flaperon
trailing edge high. I'm trying to figure out if this is correct or not.
Thanks for any help.

I set my neutral position the same as Drew, ie., even
with the fairing box and the wingtips. However, now
that I have been flying for a few years, I might do it
differently if I was building again.
Most of the flying is done in full reflex, and that's
also when you want to have the least drag to maximize
your cruise speed. So if you angled the fairing up from
the roof line to match the trailing edge in the reflex
position, that should reduce turbulence and drag at
that point. I would do the same with the tips.
