Brad
Take the head off the gun. You shoukd see a back up nut which you can
adjust the plunger with.
Good luck

I just started using the cheap chicago pneumatic riviter from harbor
freight.
It pulls the rivits just fine but it is VERY hard to insert them into the
gun. I have to start them by hand then press it on the bench to get them all
the
way flush with the tip. Then after you pull one you have to press the 3/8"
of
stub left out of the gun on the bench before you can start the next one. It
also seemed that after 10 or 15 rivits a couple stems would get caught in
the
passage out the back and I would have to take the nose apart to clear it. Is
it
OK to put a shorter or weaker spring pushing the jaws foward so the rivits
insert easier? The 3/16 rivits wern't bad as the screw in tip pushed the
jaws
back enough to open them a little. The 1/8" rivits are driving me nuts. I
don't
want to think about 30,000 more doing it like that. Thanks, Brad

Brad, you rivetor is adjusted wrong and the plunger assembly isn't going far
enough forward to release the grippers. You need to take the outer cone off
and loosen the lock nut on the nose piece assembly and thread it forward a
bit and then relock, put cover and tip back on and try again until the
rivets drop in to the gun under their own weight.
