Great way to spend Canada Day!!.....and other pursuits!

Hey Wayne, keep the stories & pictures coming, like Walter says, it keeps us
thinking about making progress!

Soooooo what did we do on our Canada Day long weekend???? Well Francine and I
are the latest inductees in the great Proseal veterans club! Yes indeed, while
you were out enjoying yourself splashing around we were slaving away at getting
gray goopy gunk everywhere including in the lower half of our first tank. I
guess it wasn't all that bad (or maybe it was??) but having done it once there
will be a few things learned and done different next time.

A couple of things to report on though, since we can't buy the two hour Proseal
(actually, Flamemaster via Aviall) here we got 4 hour and we are glad we did.
It takes away one of the pressure points (time) especially on a hot day like we
had. The other thing of note was we tried out using a caulking gun for applying
the stuff and it worked GREAT! It doesn't matter if you are only mixing as
little as 150g or much more, the ability to squirt it out where you want and to
touch up and dress the corners as you apply it is worth the trouble.

The tubes are really not much trouble to load either and they are dirt cheap so
it is economical to use them for small batches. We got the tubes at CR Laurence
(http://www.crlaurence.com/, branches throughout North America & Europe) for
something like CDN$1.20 for a tube and a plunger, min order $25.00 so you get
plenty to work with.

On to the next wing...........soon!

Cheers,

Dave R.

You guys getting tired of these yet?? Just let me know and I'll shut up!!

Our local RAA chapter set up a display again in Little Lake Park - Midland
Ontario for Canada Day. Great excuse to exercise our right and keep the lake
open to float/ski planes. The town even invited us and put us on the program
this year!! (the lake is restricted to 5HP and less motors!)

Four pics uploaded to "float installations"

Cheers,
Wayne
