scat tube tip

Post by Murray and Carol Cherkas » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:15 pm

Hello All

Tired paying those big U.S.$$$$$$ and the time it takes to get things.

I went to a muffler shop, explained what a scat tube fitting looked like and
in 5 minutes I had a 2" and 3" one in my hand. Six of pack of beer later and
I was a happy camper.Yes it's made from galv. tube and yes it must weigh at
least 1/4 lb. more. But the convenience was worth it.

Just a thought, worked for me

Murray

If there is a concern having galv. against 2024 I put a gasket with high

Good Luck

Hi Murray,

Well, that's ingenuity. I never stop gasping at the money most of the
aircraft suppliers want for their products!!!

Crappy Tire (er I mean Canadian Tire ;) ) sells 18" lengths of that
stuff in exhaust pipe sizes. I'd like to locate some in stainless though...
