Hearst

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:11 pm

Guess there's no reason to come to Hearst if I can't get a free meal at
Subway!! :o)))) (just kidding!).

Not sure what's going to happen this year. Our Plastics plant is shutting
down 2 weeks earlier than normal ((due to customer pressure to match their
shutdowns ... and I think mainly my partner (also Father-n-law) trying to
sneak in the West bound Ramble)) for Summer holidays June 27 to July 14 vs
the usual last two weeks of July we have used for the last 18 years! I also
have to pick up a guys CH701 on Monday morning (down Coburg way) for final
assembly and amphib installation so I "stupidly" cut myself out of a full
summer off that's for sure. Have to get his airplane done in the next 3
weeks or so and then take what ever I can get, so maybe just a week to
Martin River or something but you never know I've made Hearst in a loooong
days drive before!

The spare time is since we sold the store as of May 14th. It was a great
business, but just too much work. So I'm temporarely unemployed.

I did get the info for Dave Fife, thanks.

As for temps, definetly not complaining. It sure is great. Hope to see
even
more improvement once I install the air box and Hoerner tips.

Bye for now,

Aurele

P.S. Let me know if you happen to travel into our area this year again.

As for temps.....you ask "what gives" ... You're complaining??!! Or are
you
wondering if someone crazy glued your needle in one place!! :o))

Thanks for the info Wayne. Actually the SR is out of price range and
to
date
I have no serious offers on mine. I've finally gooten around to
installing
my 4 in 1 S.S. exhaust and it sounds great. I've also split my cowl to
eliminate removing the prop all the time. My airbox is almost complete
and
I
should install this whenever we can get some rain (read, no down
time.)
Have
been taking advantage of my free time to spruce up the house and yard
and
of
course the Rebel.

If it hasn't sold in the next couple of weeks will be ordering tips
from
DAvid Fife. Can you give me his tel # or e-mail, misplaced it again.

Thanks, Aurele

P.S. Since I cut the botom of the cowl and added my exhaust, I can't
get
the
oil temp to go beyond 210 F and about the same for the cyl. head temp.
Thinking of turning the bottom lip into an adjustable cowl flap. Just
to
give you an idea, my in-flight adjustable prop malfunctionned the
other
day
and ran it at take off picth, 6000 rpm to get any climb and maitain
it,
for
40 minutes straight and got no significant increase in temperature
readings??? What gives???
