Russian Exhaust

MAM has a jig to reweld the outlets to fit their cowling - then they fit well. I have heat muffs for both sides the left side from a CJ or other Yak I believe.

We offer a Moose Exhaust designed specifically for the Moose cowling. It has
dual heat muffs on it for "non-south" flying and is made of 321 stainless
steel tubing using American radial engine style joints rather than the leaky
clamps. Set includes a new gasket set as well. Price is ******(email me off
the list for pricing). Deliveries are on going with nearly all backordered
systems shipped at this time. Lead time is 2-4 weeks ARO. This system is a
development form the Model 12 system we created and provide to our model 12
builders.

I recently learned that Gary Green (Formerly Aircraft Exhaust systems ) is
now offering a dual heat muff exhaust system for the Moose. He is also a
builder. He is also working on an air cleaner system for the Moose. He can

systems and Kimball Enterprises offers a dual muff system as well.

Randy,
As you know the Yaks have been using the system for years. The biggest
problems are loose nuts where the system attaches to the cylinders. I have
never seen any evidence of cracking except where things were loose. I know
of many systems with hundreds of hours on them. The Russian clamping system
connecting the segments needs to be checked regularly. The "old style
clamps" often rusted through after years of activity. The new style clamps
have not seemed to do this. Many of the Yaks and Sukhois had a titanium
exhaust system. This was more prone to cracking and difficult to make weld
repairs.
