H-stab outboard hinge doubler

The factory demonstrator has an external doubler applied to the outboard
hinge area of the H-stab that wraps around to the end rib... photo at:

Brian at MAM indicated to me in a phone conversation that this area did not
need to be reinforced unless one intended to use the M-14 with the big
paddled bladed prop. He believed the stresses were caused by the large
pulses from this prop alone.

All the newer kits ship with enough W-139 material to make full span rear
spar doublers, so that should be adequate to address the issue. On my kit
even though I don't plane to use this M-14/prop combination, I figured, one
never knows. But rather than putting an external doubler on that would then
require different spacers for the outboard hinges, I decided to place the
doublers on the inside corner of the rear spar/end rib.

I hope this will provide the same benefit as the doubler MAM put on the
demonstrator, and it is definately simpler to do while building.

Just thought I'd share in case anybody else found themselves here.
