Bill, five out of six Moose that I have seen put in pulleys at every angle
change. Rudder, flaps and elevator. Most attached rudder pulleys to the
forward stabilizer bracket bulkhead. Some used the bulkhead forward of that,
the one the forward fin spar attaches to. That way they cables go straight
out to the rudder arm.

I'm assuming that you're talking about the little cable guides that the wire
passes through. Are all of you guys satisfied with the cable making
directional changes through these guides? I know that we're not talking
about a lot of force on the cable, but the fact that you can 'feel it rub'
when the controls are moved, sorta bugs me. If there's a bunch of history
of no problems, I'll feel better. In the meantime, I'm kinda leaning on
substituting pulleys where there are directional changes. Any thoughts???

Hi Scott,
I have no issue with the rudder system. It seems smooth enough. The
one that grabs my attention is the elevator, where the cables go up, from
the carry throughs to the first pulley. Since the elevator is not 100%
balanced, there's a bit of load when pulling up. Not an awful lot, but
noticeable. I'm sure all of this load will disappear in flight, as will my
impressions of the friction. I'm planning on leaving the cable guides 'as
is', with a contingency for change to pulleys if issues arise.
I built my mount system for the air tank, this weekend. I'm putting a
composite cylinder under the passenger seat. I'll have to admit to being a
bit lethargic, lately. Not much progress except for
fitting/drilling/installing nutplates for the floor boards. I'm sure you're
WAY ahead of this.
